The Thermage® procedure is an advanced method of tightening skin without surgery. The procedure is non-invasive, performed with an advanced radio frequency device called ThermaCool TCTM. It requires no incisions and minimal recovery time. The Thermage procedure can deliver tighter skin, renewed contours and healthier collagen-the building block that provides structure to your skin. The top layers of the skin are protected with a cooling spray while radio frequency energy heats the collagen in the lower layers. Over time, new collagen grows to further tighten the skin and produce a more youthful appearance.
The Thermage procedure can take up to a few hours, depending on the size of the target area. Additional time may be required for skin preparation prior to the procedure. Most people return to their regular activities the next day following Thermage. Some patients exhibit a temporary redness after treatment, although there is usually no long lasting swelling or bruising. As always, sunscreen is recommended as a part of good skin care.
The Thermage procedure is also used to treat the eye area, helping to improve texture and soften fine lines and crow's feet. This non-invasive treatment represents a safe and unique option for eyelid rejuvenation and can be combined with other areas of the face as an alternative to surgical facial rejuvenation.
