Frequently Asked Questions About Cosmetic Surgery

Serving Denver, Aurora, Cherry Creek, and the Northern Colorado Area

What will the recovery period be like?

Depending on which cosmetic surgery you have, the recovery period may be as short as a day or two, or as long as a week or two. Dr. Serota will give you clear instructions beforehand, and you’ll have time to fill prescriptions, and do things like stock up on groceries, and make childcare arrangements.

Generally there’ll be some bruising and swelling, which will subside in a few days or a week. In some cases a little extra makeup will take care of it for the purposes of going back to work. Pain medication will deal with any pain or discomfort. An antibiotic will prevent any infection, although you should be careful to follow Dr. Serota’s instructions as to showering, bathing any incision sites, and changing any dressings.

There’ll be some follow-up appointments which you should be sure and keep. Dr. Serota will need to inspect any incision sites and assess your general progress. The first of these visits will probably be the day after your cosmetic surgery, and then after a few more days or a week. Then, depending on which procedure you had, they’ll taper off to intervals of months or sometimes years.
