Denver Microdermabrasion
Decemberber 15th, 2011Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure that not only improves the appearance and texture of the skin but also reduces the appearance of blemishes that are caused by sun damage. Apart from stimulating skin proteins such as collagen, microdermabrasion is also one of the most popular skin rejuvenation techniques. This minor procedure involves gently exfoliating the skin with mild abrasives such as aluminum oxide and vitamin C crystals, or even tiny diamond chips. These crystals remove the top layer (epidermal layer) of the skin comprising dead skin cells, which promotes the production of new skin cells in the deepest (basal) layer of the dermis. Sometimes, a solution of salicylic acid or hyaluronic acid may be infused during the treatment process.
Hyaluronic acid adds extra moisture while salicylic acid cleans out the pores effectively. Microdermabrasion restores the skin's youthful glow, and the entire treatment can be personalized to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles. It is extremely effective in the treatment of facial skin that is affected by mild acne or skin that has an uneven texture or is sun damaged. This skin rejuvenating technique, appropriate for men as well as women, results in smooth and younger-looking skin that is almost free of blemishes.
