Thermage™
Quick. Non-invasive. Non-surgical.
Did you know that we offer Thermage™ treatments at the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center with highly successful results?
The Thermage procedure is a non-invasive treatment that can deliver tighter skin, renewed contours and healthier collagen-the building block that provides structure to your skin. Learn more about Thermage and contact our Denver cosmetic surgery office today to schedule an appointment.
What is Thermage?
The Thermage procedure employs a patented radio frequency (RF) technology called ThermaCoolT. The ThermaCool system uses a sophisticated treatment tip called ThermaTip™, which delivers a controlled amount of RF energy. With each touch to the skin, the ThermaTip device uniformly heats a large volume of collagen in the deeper layers of the skin and its underlying tissue while simultaneously protecting the outer layer of the skin with cooling. This deep uniform heating action causes deep structures in your skin to immediately tighten. Over time, new and remodeled collagen is produced to further tighten skin, resulting in healthier, smoother skin and a more youthful appearance.
What can I expect?
The Thermage procedure can take up to a few hours, depending on the size of the target area. Additional time may be required for skin preparation prior to the procedure. Most people return to their regular activities immediately following Thermage. Some patients exhibit a temporary redness after treatment, although there is usually no long lasting swelling or bruising. As always, sunscreen is recommended as a part of good skin care.
What are the results?
In most patients, some results may appear immediately, however most appear gradually. The best results are seen between 4-6 months. Studies show that improvements continue for at least 6 months after a single treatment session. Additional studies show that thermal collagen changes can last several years, depending on the rate of the aging process.
